TDA is honored to be given the opportunity to have a knowledge-sharing session with YBhg. Brigadier General Dato’ Dr. A Halim bin Hj Basari on National Vaccine and Pharmaceutical Industry Landscape.
Dato’ Halim is currently the Director of Pharmacy at the Health Services Division of the Malaysian Armed Forces and leading the military pharmaceutical care & pharmaMedLog services. Dato Halim is one of the Pharmacy Board members in Malaysia and well recognised by International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP).
The session highlighted the medicine/ vaccine development process, local pharma capability, healthcare supply chain management, the pandemic’s impact on the pharma industry, and the halal pharmaceutical sector globally and in Malaysia’s perspective.
Through this session, TDA aimed to understand the ecosystem of the supply chain in the Medical and Pharmaceutical industry and identify gaps that can be filled through ICP programs that can spur the capability and capacity of Malaysia to produce its vaccine.
TDA wishes to explore and identify more ICP programmes that could be implemented to enhance the benefits of ICP in investment, local industry players, transfer of technology, and local suppliers following government initiatives.
