KUALA LUMPUR, 18 July 2017 – MIMOS Berhad (MIMOS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Technology Depository Agency (TDA), an agency under the Ministry of Finance. MIMOS and TDA exchanged the MOU today at the Launching Ceremony of MIMOS-NCIA Advanced Competency Development Centre at Technology Park Malaysia.
The MIMOS-NCIA Advanced Competency Development Centre is a partnership of shared facilities between MIMOS Berhad and Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) to provide world-class semiconductor industry training through hands-on approach. This project is in line with the Government’s aspiration to create a skilled workforce to support initiatives towards a high-income nation by year 2020.
The MOU exchanged ceremony between MIMOS and TDA together with other strategic partners was graced and withnessed by Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, YBhg Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau.
MIMOS and TDA are to cooperate as R&D partners under Industrial Collaboration Programme (ICP) related activities. TDA as the ICP Authority in Malaysia is to provide the platforms for MIMOS to work/cooperate with ICP Recipients in providing technical solution in Design, Reliability Testing, IOT, E&E and more (trainings, study visits, internships, attachment etc.). The cooperation also may be undertaking other activities such as field-testing, technology transfer, commercialization of technological products as well as organizing events to create business opportunities.
“Currently TDA is identifying potential ICP project(s) through the ICP Management Units (IMU) to see the area that MIMOS can fit in.” says Dato’ Zailani Safari, CEO of TDA.
